Christmas Meeting Friday marks the start of Cheltenham’s festive weekend and offers a card full of betting opportunities. The feature, the Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase, is always a fascinating contest for punters, bringing together specialist horses who excel over Cheltenham’s unique banks, ditches, and obstacles. It’s a race that often highlights strong Festival clues and rewards those who pay attention to course form and stamina profiles. While the day carries a festive feel around the course, the real focus for racing fans and bettors is the depth of form on display and the opportunity to track horses who may reappear in March.
